Wizards Fall in Overtime Despite Alex Sarr’s Strong Performance
The Washington Wizards couldn’t hold off the Philadelphia 76ers, falling 139–134 in overtime despite a dominant performance from Alex Sarr. The 76ers rallied in the fourth quarter and overtime to remain undefeated at 4–0.
Sarr led Washington with 31 points, 11 rebounds, and 5 assists, anchoring the team on both ends. The Wizards led 72–68 at halftime and opened the third with a 14–3 run, extending the lead to as many as 19 points before the Sixers mounted their comeback.
Despite strong support from Kyshawn George (20 points, 9 rebounds) and CJ McCollum (14 points, 7 assists), Washington’s offense faltered late, managing just eight points in overtime as Tyrese Maxey took over for Philadelphia.
The Wizards drop to 1–3 on the season, but Sarr’s performance was a major bright spot, highlighting his leadership and consistency as the team looks to find its rhythm early in the season.
