Wizards Fall to Celtics in 130–104 Loss.
Poole shines with 31 points, but Washington can’t slow down Boston’s offense
The Washington Wizards dropped to 11–57 on the season after a 130–104 loss to the Boston Celtics on Sunday. Boston set the tone early, exploding for 45 first-quarter points to put the game out of reach.
Jordan Poole led the Wizards with 31 points in just 23 minutes, providing a much-needed scoring lift. Justin Champagnie added 14 points and 8 rebounds, while Anthony Gill and Jules Bernard chipped in 13 and 12 points, respectively.
Despite the offensive contributions, Washington once again struggled defensively, giving up high-percentage looks both in the paint and on the perimeter. The Celtics’ depth and efficiency proved too much for a Wizards squad still in the midst of a rebuild.
With less than 15 games remaining, the focus for Washington continues to be player development and evaluating young talent. Poole’s scoring outburst was a bright spot, but the Wizards will need more consistency on both ends to close the season on a positive note.
