Kuzma, Avdija, and Holmes lead the way in balanced team effort

The Washington Wizards delivered one of their more complete performances of the season, defeating the Charlotte Hornets 112–100 on Friday night. The victory, Washington’s 10th of the season, was highlighted by a dominant fourth quarter in which the Wizards outscored Charlotte 44–24 to secure the win.

Kyle Kuzma set the tone with a near triple-double, finishing with 28 points, 9 assists, and 8 rebounds in 40 minutes. His ability to both score and facilitate gave Washington stability late in the game as the offense found its rhythm.

Deni Avdija continued his strong all-around play, recording a double-double with 18 points and 14 rebounds, further establishing himself as a key piece in the Wizards’ long-term plans. Inside, Richaun Holmes provided toughness and efficiency, contributing 14 points and 11 rebounds to secure his own double-double.

The supporting cast also stepped up. Jordan Poole added 15 points and 7 assists off the bench, while Bilal Coulibalysupplied 11 points in 27 minutes, showcasing flashes of his potential as a developing guard. Corey Kispert chipped in with 13 points on steady shooting.

For Washington, the win was more than just a rare bright spot in the standings — it was a showcase of collective effort and resilience. With Kuzma leading the way and Avdija and Holmes anchoring both ends of the floor, the Wizards produced the type of balanced performance that has often eluded them this season.

As the year winds down, Washington continues to evaluate its roster and search for consistency. Friday’s game provided a glimpse of what the team hopes to build upon: strong contributions from its core and promising signs from its younger talent.
