The Valkyries battled down to the final seconds but came up just short, falling 78–77 to Phoenix in front of another sold-out crowd at Chase Center.

Veronica Burton led the way with 17 points, knocking down four threes and dishing out six assists. Tiffany Hayes stayed hot from beyond the arc, going 4-for-5 from deep, while Monique Billings provided a spark off the bench with 9 points, 9 rebounds, and a game-high +21. Janelle Salaün closed strong, scoring the team’s final eight points.

Golden State connected on a season-high 14 threes and matched a season low with just nine turnovers—but in the end, it all came down to a single free throw.

They’ll look to bounce back Wednesday against Seattle.
