Paige Bueckers put on one of the most historic rookie performances in WNBA history, scoring 44 points in the Dallas Wings’ 81–80 loss to the Los Angeles Sparks. The No. 1 overall pick went 17-of-21 from the field, including 4-of-4 from three and 6-of-6 on free throws, becoming the first player in league history with 40+ points on 81% shooting.
Bueckers’ total sets a new rookie scoring record, surpassing Candace Parker’s 40-point game in 2008, and ranks 10th all-time in WNBA history.
